Honor 5X to receive Marshmallow, regular security patches and EMUI4
For those who were excited to hear that the Honor 5X would be making its way to the US, only to find out that early adopters wouldn’t be able to experience the latest version Android, we’ve got some good news for you. The company has just reached out to Android Authority to let us know that the US-bound Honor 5X would be receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow at some point in the future, along with the latest build of Honor’s custom software, EMUI4.
As a refresher, the Honor 5X comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display, a Snapdragon 615 processor, microSD card expansion up to 128GB, and a pretty nice 13MP rear camera. It also has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, an all-metal build and a 3000mAh battery which should be enough to last through a full day on a single charge. You can pre-order the Honor 5X on Amazon now in three different color options. To get more information on the 5X, be sure to check out our full hands-on and first impressions with the device at CES 2016.
